Tales of Two Adventures
HELLO, YOU! I feel we needed a capitalised greeting given it’s been such a bloody long time since I posted anything on here. I’ve been having a FAB summer, with lots of adventures, which has been so lovely after all the shitty illness and surgery stuff – it’s been busy! After my last blog post, I went to Cuba; I’ve wanted to go there since I was about sixteen so I felt VERY lucky to finally have the opportunity to. My favourite thing about the place was unquestionably the people – as Cuba is such a poor country, lots of the citizens don’t have a lot of money but they have SO much spirit. We spoke to lots of staff at the hotel, all of whom had to travel two hours every day to get to and from work, many worked two jobs and had very limited time off because they wanted to make as much money for their family as possible. A tour guide told me that doctors there make around $35 (USD) per MONTH, which is about £26. Everything is mad expensive out there because almost everything has to be imported, so the citizens can’t really afford much.… View Post
